Local School Children Enjoy Visit to Kielder Organic Meats!

A very enjoyable day was had recently when we had a visit to Dunterley from a group of local school children!

Colin and Michelle toured the farm with the children, explaining how the Farm works, how animals are reared and their life cycles etc.  The children also saw the Butchery and one of our Butchers at work, and our wonderful Catering Trailer.  The children were full of great questions and Colin was in his element telling them all about his Farm and animals!

                                    

Arena Showcross Event Great Success - Despite the Weather!

Fun in the rain!

Yesterday's Arena Show Cross event here at Dunterley was a huge success, attracting over 80 entries.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves despite the rain.  The course was attractive and well built and the large grass arena stood up to hundreds of hooves - jumps were moved when the ground became poached.

Kielder Organic Meats provided delicious bacon, burgers and sausage sandwiches and hot and cold drinks which did a great job keeping everyone fed and watered throughout the day.





No-one went hungry!

 

This event was such a success that more will follow - the next one being in the spring of 2011.  We had many positive comments about the jumps, the excellent ground on our large flat field - despite the all day long rain, and the beauty of the location. 



We even provided shelter from the rain!!

Busy weekend ahead for Kielder Organic Meats!!

Our refrigerated lorry and our wonderful new catering trailer are as I speak heading down to Bristol for an exciting weekend at the Organic Food Festival. Farmer Colin's at the wheel and he will be working hard alongside North East Chef of the Year Lee Campbell who's cooking our delicious bacon, burgers and sausages. 

Our team serving up our food includes Jackie(eline!), Sam(antha!) and Georgie(ina!)

Meanwhile we have a stand at the first ever Newbiggin by the Sea Farmer's Market selling our beef, pork and lamb this Saturday, and we are catering at the Whitfield Show, Hexhamshire.
